
Dylan Marlais Thomas is Wales' best known and most celebrated writer. Despite periods spent in London, America and elsewhere, throughout his life Dylan kept returning to Wales.
Dylan is widely regarded as one of the twentieth century's most influential lyrical poets. Although primarily a poet, Dylan also published short stories and film scripts, and publicly performed his works and conducted radio broadcasts.

Dylan had a bittersweet relationship with Swansea, the town he once described as being an 'ugly, lovely town'.

We continue to Laugharne, which Dylan described as being 'The strangest town in Wales'. Laugharne was the scene of the blossoming relationship with his wife to be, Caitlin.
Dylan's most renowned work, 'Under Milk Wood', is set in the fictional Welsh seaside village of Llareggub, which is thought to be based on this ancient and interesting town, which stands on the west bank of the Taf Estuary.
